This module will allow eye care professionals - such as low vision nurses, optometrists, and ophthalmologists - to develop an understanding of the neuro-physiological processes involved in visual function.

Mode of attendance
The module will begin with an introductory day of online learning, workshops and lectures. You will receive further support through online learning materials, tutoring and periodic online tutorials throughout the module.

To develop an understanding of the neuro-physiological processes involved in visual function.

Who can study this module
This module is available to anybody with a relevant qualification in the eye care profession. Currently, we have Low Vision nurses, Optometrists and Ophthalmologists studying with us.

You will receive a certificate of completion once you have successfully completed the module.
This module can also be taken as part of the following course:
If you study any two standalone modules from MMedSci Vision and Strabismus programme, these could be combined to enable the award of a Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits). Any four standalone modules would enable the award of a Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits) as long as the credits are gained within a five-year time span.

The fee for this 30-credit CPD module is £1,896 (2026/2027 entry).
